In the “Distrito Centro” (Downtown District) of Madrid, a couple of minutes walking away from Puerta del Sol, and only if you are very good observer you may find this. The building where the first Synagogue in Madrid (and Spain) was opened on Feb 3rd. 1917(Shevat 11th, 5677). This centre was active until 1939 when the Spanish Civil War was finishing. The name of this Synagogue was Midrash Abarbanel, to homage to the Memory of Rabbi Yitzjak Abarbanel, who works in middle ages for the Kings of Castilla, Portugal and Naples.
