First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak because I was not a Communist. Then, they came for the Social-Democrats, and I did not speak because I was not a Social-Democrat.
Then, they came for the Trade Unionist, and I did not speak because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then, they came for the Jews and I did not speak because I was not a Jew. Then, they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.
German Pastor Martin Niemöller, incinerated 1937-45 in the Sachsenhousen and Dachau Camp.
For more than one year we are having in Madrid the Itinerary Exhibition of “Auschwitz: not far away, not long time ago”; it is very real, detailed and objective about what was the Shoa, specially this Concentration Camp and how was the social and political environment in Europe and America at those terrible moments.
I was visiting it yesterday and it is something that I really recommend to anybody passing through Madrid. More than 350.000 people have already visited the exhibition that has been extended until Feb 3rd 2019.
